Default E93 Standard Caramel packaging or company information

We don't talk much about E93 Standard Caramel cards but there are some neat poses in the 30 card set. Also, most of the other series of cards have had information revealed over the years which help us know how they were made and distributed. Has anyone got any information on the Standard Caramel Company listed on the back of the cards? Any packaging or ephemera related to the company would be great to see. (and show an E93 if you would like to)

Years ago I pondered putting together a set but decided against it. I have always liked the Wagner and Young cards. Hopefully I will add those to the collection some day. Great set for sure.

Sorry I don't have any info, but here are a few that I used to own. I always liked the Cy Young pose. It seems odd they picked a batting pose for a pitcher.

I have tried to do a little digging in the past to see what I can find out about the Standard Caramel Co but have found little. I had initially thought that Standard may have been a subsidiary of a larger corporation such as Hersey, Wilbur, American, Whitman etc. but could not find any proof to back up that theory. However I did find the that in 1906 Standard Caramel started operations at 354 N Prince St in Lancaster. I have attached exterior pictures of what the current building looks like today.

Leon,

Just did a quick search of Standard Caramel and found a couple of photos and
advertisements. Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but thought
you'd like to take a look nonetheless.

The first attachment is circa May 1910 and depicts their new factory.

The second is a notice that that they're in the process of moving into their
new facility, circa January 1910.

The third attachment is an advertisement, circa November 1911.

We can't have an E93 thread without mentioning the late, great JimB, and his unparalleled E93 PSA registry set.

Daryl, agree Jim's set is/was awesome and he never hesitated to share it when asked.

The set is great, loaded with HOFers, readily not super expensive in low grade, readily available yet not super common either. Not to mention the images are great as well. This is why it was the first prewar set I attempted. I still need a Cobb and Plank to complete. Here's my Mathewson with a blank back.

Thanks for chiming in, guys. And don't think that my very first thought when posting this thread wasn't JimB. You would be wrong. He is certainly not forgotten and will be missed forever.

Erick- I believe That is the very first E93 Standard Caramel Company related ephemera I have seen, or at least remember. That is really great information. I have done a lot of searches and never found anything. If this were T206 information there would be 93 posts and 10,477 views in the last 2 days.

Would love to add a Pirate player from this set to my collection, at some point.

Leon,

Looks like Standard Caramel was chartered on June 13, 1906.

I'm sure there's more info out there. If I happen to run across
any more details I'll be sure to post whatever I find.
