Definitely Pennock and Cronin, almost certainly late 30's. |

The guy second from left is probably Tom Daly who was a coach with the Red Sox throughout the 1930s and 40s. |

I think Dan has it nailed. Looking at my 1936 Batter Up Red Sox edition, Daly and Pennock are coahes and Hugh Duffy was added later. I almost thought the 2nd from left was Duffy Lewis but that would break up the Manager and coach lineup. Nice photo. |

Dan - how in the heck did you recognize the grandstands as a spring training site in Sarasota?! |

Tom, The Red Sox are MY team so I've seen, and owned in the past many photos of them from Spring Training in the 1930s. It's almost the first thing I recognized were those wooden grandstands with the half oval openings in the back when I saw your pic (Which is great btw). |

As stated before, this appears to be spring training and not a old timers game. I think another dead give away is that the bats the 2 men are holding appear to be fungo bats backs up the fact that they are coaches and probably spring training as was mentioned previously. |

Denny Williams is a super-tough autograph. Despite Flagstead's death in 1940, I have seen many examples, but he is also still tough, although not in the Denny Williams sense. There is a Net54 lurker who is related to Flagstead who will undoubtedly love to see this photo! Sily me, Tom, it's you !!! Thanks for sharing! |
