Let's see...do I buy the one for $6,800 or do I go for the $4.99 auction? I HATE tough decisions like this!

Anybody else have a problem with the looks of the $6,800 version (not to mention the story)?

The ripped corner makes it look much more authentic and I'm sure that the $6K edition also does not say reprint. Sure would like to see the offer sheets from the baseball team lawyer.

This is not, however, a reprint. It cost me about $100 five years ago. I seriously doubt it's gone up in value very much in that time, but who knows...

He's revised the "buy it now" price down to a low bargain basement price of only, I repeat, only, $5500!

but for that kind of bank, I would not buy it absent a third party (of my choice) opining on its authenticity. Set up an escrow of the funds with a real escrow agent and properly drawn escrow instructions, let an expert view the item, and close the deal if the item checks out.

Why does this sort of thing come up over and over again? It is really true that no one has ever gone broke underestimating the intelligence of the American consumer?

It's down to $3,995. At this decline, it may soon be free to good home.
