Default OT: Baseball game to be played using rules from the 1860's in PA

Thought this was cool and would be fun if anyone isn't too far away.

Actually, my wife sent me the link. She thought I would enjoy it. I play in a wood bat league every Sunday morning from April to November...modern rules. Your league sounds really cool. I'm going to check that site out.

Those tourney's are great. Every year Gettysburg has a tournament in a large field. Bails of hay are used as the backstop.
Its fun to watch & must be a blast to play in.
Even General Grant enjoyed himself

That is awesome. I hope I can find one in Virginia.

There was a 19th century game played about a week ago at the old site of Navin Field/Briggs Stadium/Tiger Stadium at the corner of Michigan and Trumbell in Detroit.

They play a game like this every year before the start of the Atlantic League season at the Somerset Patriots stadium here in NJ. They open the stadium to fans for family fun day and serve food, have games for the kids and play a game. It's a lot of fun for the family and we go every year.

There is a team right in my hometown. The Flemington Neshanocks. Have seen several of their games. Lots of friendly competition and a very good time.

Default Vintage Base Ball

There are teams all over the place...totally welcoming groups all over if you ever want to play or just spend the day and watch. Here is a link to the Mid-Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League site: mavbbl.com

Regarding Virginia teams, we play a bunch of teams in Maryland, and at one point there was a team in Northern VA, but they may have merged with a MD team. Perhaps you can inquire with some of the MD teams on the Mid-Atlantic site if you are interested.

There are lots of teams in the Midwest also.

I also have seen the Flemington club play in New Jersey. About 3 times I guess. If anyone gets a chance, be sure to see them. New Jersey has a few teams.

Default Vintage Baseball

Tennesse has a league, too. Begun in 2013 with two teams, the league expanded to eight teams for 2014 and is looking to expand again for next season!
