Default Real vs Fake

Thought it might be a good idea to start a thread where you could upload pictures of both a real and fake card. Not just T206's, but every kind of baseball card out there. Would help if you could also explain the differences. I consider myself pretty good at authenticating Allen & Ginter, and a few others. But get confused what to look for on others. Please include T's, E's, R's, etc.

here are a few fakes..all of the grading companies have graded a few.....you get the idea...and there was just a thread on one done by PSA....It doesn't happen often (nor should it) with the big 3 TPGs.....but it happens..

ps...both of these are far too grainy to be real...and the Ruth has too white of borders which are too evenly worn and not frayed at all. The Jackson rounding is hilarious. Can you imagine that extreme corner wear and no creases?

Leon - Until you mentioned the corner wear on the Jackson I though they were supposed to be rounded. What do you mean about fraying on the Ruth?

The Ruth has a few rounded corners that aren't frayed. That usually at least means it is altered, and many times it's a telltale sign of a forgery.

Here is a quick pic of some fake and real exhibits (the real one's in the middle), there is an older thread with a lot more good info on spotting them too-

Thanks. Keep them coming. Hopefully we can refer people to this thread when they ask if their cards are real.
