Only recall two "recent" movies. Ever since our now 2 1/2 year old daughter was born, we've fallen very far behind on anything. Just last night finally got to finish the last season of Cobra Kai.

The Pope's Exorcist was one I was looking forward to. I love that genre of horror movies that get into your head and not the "horror" movies that revolve around blood and gore or go for the quick little scare that might make you jump a little. This movie started out showing promise in my opinion, then I felt like the last 20-30 minutes were essentially "Let's wrap this thing up" and got ridiculous.

It's a couple of years old but we also watched The Black Phone. Really enjoyed that movie.

Black Phone was certainly one of the better horror movies I’ve seen in the last year or two.

Not Stephen King written, but it felt like a really good Stephen King adaptation. Lots of similar themes that are in his stories.

Joe Hill, who wrote the original story, is Stephen King’s son so that makes sense.

Rumors of a sequel/franchise. Not sure how I feel about that.

The Wailing. Slow build for the first 45 minutes or so, but the payoff is worth it for horror fans.

Interesting. Didn't know it was King's son that wrote it. Makes perfect sense.

I would root against a sequel/franchise. Not a concept I want to see overdone to death.
