Default Help Identifying 1941 Brooklyn Dodgers Players

I really suck at facial recognition. I've identified a number of the players in this UPI wirephoto but I'd like to identify more of them.... especially the guy with the "wardrobe malfunction" in the first row

Wirephoto is from Sept 24, 1941 - Bums clinched pennant in Boston vs the Braves.... clubhouse celebration.

So far I have:

Front row: "Unknown f1" .... Durocher.... Pete Reiser.... "Wardrobe Malfunction"

2nd Row: "Unknown far left 2nd".... Fitzsimmons..... Higbe.... Wyatt (no face).... Walker

3rd Row: I don't have any IDs

I think wardrobe malfunction may be Ducky Medwick; to the left of Fitzsimmons, looks like Lavagetto.

You could go thru baseball-reference's 41 dodgers page and look at each player; i only did a few for the above.

I think the Dodger in the T-Shirt, no pants, is Steve Sacks (sp)

khkco - the guy between Fitzsimmons and Higbe has his hand on Fitz's shoulder - can't be Snider, he wasn't on the tem. Top left corner could be Reese.

Shoeless Moe - no "Stve" or "Sacks" on the roster. Steve Sax, of course, wasn't even born yet

Oops.... Higbe's hand is on Fitz's shoulder. The guy behind & between them has his hand in the air.

Last row (right to left) Pete Coscarart or Dolph Camilli, Lew Riggs, (behind Riggs obstructed) Joe Vosmik

Correction: Whitlow Wyatt was my cousin and I never knew a time when he did not have a face.

Default Armpit guy

Last row, armpit facing camera - wild guess batboy Jack Bodner. I can't match that face to any roster player. Interesting tidbit, Bodner was the Dodgers batboy for 10 years.

The guy just to Mr. Wardrobe's right (with his right ear lit up) sure looks like Whitlow.

Thanks all so far!

clyde - The Chicago Tribune ran a cropped portion of this photo the next day and they identified the headless player as Wyatt - he was the winning pitcher of that game.

Actually, after checking BBR, Higbe was the winning pitcher on 9/24 the day they clinched (they were 1.5 games up over StL. with each team having one game remaining)- Whitlow pitched his league high seventh shutout in the season finale the next day, 9/25.

So far this is the best consensus.....

Front row: Dressen..... Durocher.... Reiser.... Medwick

2nd row: Lavagetto... Fitzsimmons.... Higbe.... Wyatt

3rd row: Walker... part face unknown.... Bodner (batboy).... Vosmik... part face unknown.... Riggs... Camilli.

No, Vosmik is the obstructed face to the left of Riggs. My guess to the full face to the left of Riggs is either Jim Wasdell, Tommy Tatum or Vito Tamulis.

"Wardrobe Malfunction"

That's nuts.

Sorry...
