Default T206 Red Ames Portrait Question

I can't tell if this is a rare card, a defaced card, or something else. Would like to find out. Thanks, Jeff

This Ames card that I found on the internet is truly defaced. The one you have shown makes it seem instead like Red went in for a hair transplant procedure.

But on the serious side, I have not seen anything like it, but to me it seems that this is an ink stain, and not part of the printing process. Why it would then be graded as VG I am not quite clear about.

I would be interested to read what others think.

Brian

It looks like a post-factory smudge of somesort; dirt, ink, etc. Just my opinion.

Need better scans to be sure, does the back have any tells? Welcome BTW

I recently purchased the card. I don't have it yet. I posted the picture that the seller provided.
