Default Silver Baseball Coin Value Help

So I am visiting Mass this weekend to help my brother sell off his coin collection... He has this 1989 Hall of fame commemorative coin that I cant seem to find anything out about... coin is of the original 5 hofers and represents the 50th anniversary of the first class of inductees...

Coin is numbered 187 and weighs approximately 14oz .999 silver i presume...

Anyone have any additional information/value estimate on this monster?

Any help is greatly appreciated in advance...

Thanks!
Dave

Only guessing here, but it's probably worth pretty close to its silver value, which would be around $280. It might have a premium above that, I'm not sure.

Hi Dave,
Barry is right my experience with these type of commerative coins are the value of the metal for melt or scrap. Never much value as a coin. At least its 14 Ozs. Check jewlery stores and coin shops ,dont take the first price as the price quoted you can be very different at different places!
