Does anyone know where I can get a list of major leaguers (players, coaches, managers) who were in the armed services during WWII.

I'm particularly interested if any ever served in Spokane, playing for the team there that often played other Pacific Coast teams from other bases and even high school, college and semi-pro teams.

Since my question about card storage methods failed to elicit any suggestions, I figured I would ask another question that would light up this board even less!

Actually, I could really use the info for a research project I am doing on a trove of old West Coast photos.

Thanks.

SABR (Society for American Baseball Research) is your best bet for this info. I know I have seen that type of info before.

Anyone thinking of joing SABR, which is really worthwhile, please contact me at sabrjay @ chater.net and I will send you a copy fo the form to send in so I can get credit for you joining up

SABR was going to be my next step if I couldn't find a list somewhere on the Web!

I have yet to attend meetings even though I've been a member for a couple of years. Which chapter are you in -- I'm in NYC.

Also, have you ever thought about starting a vintage memorabilia group within SABR -- I don't think there is one.

Robert

I was a long time member of the Lefty O'Doul charter in the San FRancisco Bay Area. Now I am in the Halsey Hall chapter area, Minnesota. Attended the SF meetings as much as possible. Have yet to make it to a MN shapter meeting.
