Nice Chuck. I would love if you posted a pic of your Drums and Uzits- that would be very cool to see. Not a bad few things to collect.

Agreed! Chuck, you have a great collection (at least judging from your pickups that you post). A drum thread would be pretty cool. We would love to see some pics! Would be some major Drum-envy!

Congrats Ed!
Nice to see you back collecting. I'm thrilled to add this 1909 Larry McLean Dockman E92 which I picked up from Lee and Sterling Sports Auctions! The front is stunning. Back was re-glued. Probably my nicest E-card visually! Patrick |

October Pick-ups
Brian,
Is the photo of "Wild Bill" the back side of the postcard or separate from it. Sorry for the uneducated question, but what is his name? Great pick-ups! ----------------------------------- Brian: Just looked him up: May be "Wild Bill" Donovan from the 1908 Detroit Free Press Tigers postcard. Born Oct 13, 1876, died Dec 9, 1923. Right-handed pitcher played for the Washington Senators (1898), Brooklyn Superbas (1899–1902), Detroit Tigers (1903–12; 1918), and New York Yankees (1915–16). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Donovan Last edited by OLDBILL; 10-05-2018 at 03:24 PM. Reason: added answer to my own question to Brian |

Ever closer to completing the E94 master set. A little dinged but a welcome addition. Now that I am down to the last handful, any one I find and buy are welcome. Still chasing the blue and dark green Crawfords, violet Lajoie, red Lajoie, dark green Cobb and dark green Wagner. The last two I don't want to pay a fortune for so lower grades :-)
I don't believe I have ever seen a blue Crawford for sale, anyone have one they might part with? |

Thank you for the post and your kind words. The player is "Wild Bill" Donovan. The back of the postcard states Wolverine News. Here is a post, albeit a horizontal scan. |

Thanks for sharing!!
So neat to see everyone so fired up here. Some of those pick ups are divine. It was a slow month here but there was a small addition. Couldn't resist plucking a couple things from the estate of George Scott. Here are images of his lifetime pass and the first pro contract as an 18-year old.
Some years ago I finally put aside the excuses and built a site about my collection. It has a page for every HoFer and a couple hundred other baseball figures. It's called CooperstownExpert.com. If you have a favorite guy, or too much time on your hands, check it out. Thanks for sharing your pick ups!! |
