Default OT newer bat question

Posted By: leon

I am going to use one of my freebie OT posts here. Sorry for the interruption. An acquaintenace asked if I could find out anything more about these bats...the description is this:

This Collection was Produced in 1991 by the Cooperstown Bat Company. Also included is a Nicely Finished Wood Wall Mount Baseball Bat Holder for very Elegant Displaying. They come with a letter of authenticity.

*My guess is the value is about $100- $200 but I said I would ask. Anyone know anything more about these or see any sell, and for how much? thanks much

Leon, these were limited edition, can't remember how many sets right now. I know I called the HOF and they were sold out in a couple of months. They are worth much more than $100-$200 for the set. My memory is failing me on the original price but I think it was around $700.00. I would say the set would sell in the $1500.00 range right now.

Joe

There are modern limited edition numbered Hall of Fame Induction bats from the Baseball Hall of Fame Museum that can be valuable. A Ruth (which is a LOT more expensive that most HOFer examples) sold for over $500 on eBay. I don't known about the Cooperstown Collection bats, but there is a market for these types of bats.

A set sold at HUNT in 2003 for $775 plus vig and you see them on Ebay every once is a while. Lower numbered bats fetch higher prices.

When I was at cooperstown about five years ago, I remembering asking the guy working the store what that set was worth. The store no longer carried them, it being a limited addition but he thought that if you could buy the set for 1300, it was a good price. Since then, I think the price has dropped. I have seen sets sell for over 1500 and as low as 500
