Default Hey-not yet!! Slightly OT but maybe fun!

All,
I got a nice email from the automated N54 system today wishing me a very Happy Birthday!!

Well, I thought that was pretty cool, even though it was a day early.
My birthday is actually tomorrow...Sept 21st...but it got me thinking that we might all want to know which baseball players share our birthdays...

http://www.baseball-reference.com/friv/

Most famous is probably Cecil Fielder, who is embarrasingly one year younger than I am (he'll only be 47)
Scott Spiezio had a few big years too. Current Phillie Antonio Bastardo turns 25 tomorrow, and one old guy you may have seen before also was born on Sept 21st...see scan (borrowed scan, but this is the only Mayo I own, I don't have a scan or the card handy)

So, who shares a birthday with a famous player? Do you specifically collect that player accordingly?

Have some fun...scans please!

Is that some new variant spelling of Barack?

Default April 4

I am happy to say that there were quite a few good baseball players born on my birthday (April 4) including Tris Speaker, Gil Hodges, Joe Vosmik, Mickey Owen, Ray Fosse, Jim Fregosi and Scott Rolen. Ex-commissioner Bart Giamatti was also born on that day.

Other notables: Maya Angelou, Robert Downey Jr, Dale Hawerchuk, Heath Ledger, Craig T. Nelson and Muddy Waters.

Valentine's day is almost completely void of any decent players, but has a couple of great names.

Best hitter is Candy LaChance. Insert joke here.

Best pitcher is Pretzels Getzien.

I did not meet anyone else with my birthday until I was 35 years old! The odds against that are enormous.
Other than Joe Blanton, Jay Bell and Derek Bell there is only this guy:

Hi Brian! Great thread. Thanks for getting me everyone's birthdate.

Now..., if you would start a thread talking about the baseball tie-ins with their Social Security numbers, and get everyone to contribute, that would be great!

Jay- I knew about Mary Shelley, because Percy Shelley and I are both August 4, and Judy and Mary are both August 30. So as a couple we share two birthdays! I know meaningless stuff like that.

Default B-Day madness

To Jeff Betts--- a most happy day to you as well sir!

My deep dish of lasagne set the tone for my birthday banana cream pie. Along with another Phillies victory tonight... I will sleep peacefully!

To Jim VB---there you go, ruining humanity again. Oh...that PIN number you asked for sent via PM

To those sharing birthdays with Barry Manilow, David Hasselhoff or Michael Bolton...um, never mind

To JimB--I was reading "Matty" on the airplane back from St.Louis last week...how many times do you actually wish a flight was longer?? I am only half way through

Thanks for playing...more scans!!

No baseball players I ever heard of. On the other hand, there is Brigitte Bardot.

I'll turn 61 on Tuesday (Sept. 28).
