Default Consolidated access to the 15 - T206 T-brand (front/back) surveys....UPDATED

For ease of access, I have consolidated all the 15 front/back T206 surveys that I have previously posted on Net54.

Furthermore, I have also included the T213-1 and T215-1 checklists....as these sets fall under the "T206 rubric", in that they are White-Bordered,
Brown-Captioned Tobacco cards printed and issued within the 1909-1912 timeframe.

Many thanks Ted,

This in and of itself should be considered a major reference in regards to the matrix of T206's.

For the record I fall into including T213-1 and 215-1 as part of this comprehensive production. If one did not have knowledge of Burdick's guide, and laid them out as you have in the scan of backs you would absolutely believe them to be part of the family.

Default thanks....and

Thanks Ted. This is a big help to everyone interested in the subject. I still fall into that other category that doesn't believe the Coupons and Red Cross's are T206s, but we can continue that debate into eternity. I am going to have Brian put this thread into the Archives for perpetuity. That way it will always just be a click or two away. Great work my friend. I look forward to seeing you in a few months at the Oaks show. regards

Default Thanks guys......

The intent of this thread is threefold......

1....Quick and easy access to the most up-to-date info regarding the legitimate front/back combos of the various T-brands
with respect to "THE MONSTER".

2....A fast reference for collectors, who are searching for certain players as a function of their T206 backs.

3....And hopefully, prevent the big $$$$ purchases of fake T206's that have been "re-fronted' (others say "re-backed")....,
as has occurred in the past 12 years.

The PIEDMONT (Factory #25), the SOVEREIGN, and the SWEET CAPORAL (Factory #30) lists are 100 % complete.

All the other T-brand lists are still a work in progress, and are approaching their completion. Therefore, any new inputs from
you are greatly appreciated......THANKS again.

Leon

Entering this thread in the ARCHIVES is fine. Perhaps, sticking it at the top of the daily list for a week is a good idea, too.
Just a suggestion.

As I see it, 1/3 of us agree with you and I with respect to the 1910 COUPON cards and the 1910-12 RED CROSS cards being included
in The Monster's family. Another 1/3 disagree with this premise. Another 1/3 could care less. And then, there is Leon, who apparently
is quite "dogmatic" when it comes to Burdick's sportscards classifications. I do not think we'll convince him, otherwise. That's his opine
and that's just peachy fine.

Regards, and thanks for the nice words,

TED Z

Ted,

Agreed. While Burdick's work was certainly monumental in the early cataloging of cards, he certainly was helter skelter as to designations.

If the 1/3 that disagree with the inclusion of T213-1 and T215-1, I ask why don't we have Sovereign Type 1&2, American Beauty 1&2, Piedmont, Sweet Cap, Broadleaf, Hindu, etc. ALL appeared in "T206" and later in T205.

Default Thanks

Ted,

Thanks for putting this all together. I had the monster less the big 3 complete about 12 years ago. I sold it as I was about to get married. Hmmmm, hindsight !!! Long story short, I'm back in the hunt and loving it !! The backs will be a bigger focus for me this go-round and these checklists are a huge help.

Thanks,

Adam

Default Sovereign list

Thanks to massive help from Ted, I've typed out the entire list of possible Sovereign cards, which came to 478 total. If anybody is interested in it, send me an email at illini_grad_90@yahoo.com and I'll send it along. All I ask is that if you see any errors, let me know so I can clean it up...

Take Care,
Geno

Default Consolidated access to 15 front/back surveys of the T206 T-brands....UPDATED

With a high confidence of certainty, I can state that the following three T206 brands in these lists are complete ........

PIEDMONT (Factory #25) ...... 522 different cards

SOVEREIGN ...... 402 different cards + the additional 6 super-prints with the Sovereign 460 backs = 408 cards

SWEET CAPORAL (Factory #30) ...... 469 different cards

The remaining T206 brands (with their various Factory permutations) in this project are still a work in progress. Therefore, any new
front / back inputs for any of these brands are greatly appreciated.

Also, always looking for new inputs (especially team info) regarding the 1910-1912 RED CROSS (T215-1) cards (Brown captions only).

Thanks for your time and effort.

Default T206

Still cannot find a CB Carrigan. I looked through all of the major auction house records that I could find and had no luck. Great work Ted.

Leon - There is no way to make accurate corrections, additions or deletions if the administrator of the list is unwilling to make those changes even when presented with the proper information. This has lead several collectors/researchers like myself to stop participating in this project.

Default Geno......re..SOVEREIGN

There are 402 different subjects printed with this brand.

A Master Set of T206's with the SOVEREIGN backs is more than the 478 cards that you have identified.
At a quick glance, I see the following guys missing on your list......

150/350 Series

Jennings (portrait) exists with only a Sovereign 350 back.

Sovereign 350 back (350/460 Regular Print Series)

Ames (hands above head)
Baker
Bender (no trees)
Berger
Bradley (bat)
M. Brown (Chicago)
Burch (fielding)

I'll check out my info and see if we can add some more to this Master Set list.

Thanks for posting your list here,

TED Z

Default Awesome!

Thanks for the pick-up on those Ted! I must have missed them in my typing. It could have had something to with the bottle of Glenmorangie that was helping me out...

Take Care,
Geno

Default Sovereign master list

Ted --

I added the ones you found, plus found three numbering errors...I believe I have it correct now at 489 for a Sovereign Master List. I'll edit the one above to reflect the changes for anybody that wants it...

Take Care,
Geno

Default Consolidated access to 15 front/back surveys of the T206 T-brands....UPDATED

For ease of access, I have consolidated all 15 - T206 front/back surveys that I have previously conducted on Net54.

Furthermore, I have also included the T213-1 and T215-1 checklists....as these sets fall under the "T206 rubric" in
that they are White-Bordered, Brown-Captioned Tobacco cards printed and issued by American Lithographic within
the 1909 - 1912 timeline.

T206 confirmed front/back surveys with respect to T-brand.

AMERICAN BEAUTY 350 & 460

BROAD LEAF 350 & 460

CAROLINA BRIGHTS

CYCLE 350 & 460

DRUM

EL PRINCIPE de GALES

Brown HINDU

Red HINDU

LENOX

OLD MILL

POLAR BEAR

SOVEREIGN

SWEET CAPORAL

TOLSTOI

UZIT

1910 COUPON (T213-1)

This project has been a work in progress on Net54 since 2005. Any new inputs (or corrections) to these surveys are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Default Consolidated access to 15 front/back surveys of the T206 T-brands....UPDATED

[linked image]

There are now 4312 front / back permutations accounted for in the 16 listed T206 brands in this thread.

Also, I have added some ancillary information pertinent to several of 18 tobacco brands represented here.

Just a reminder that convenient access to this thread is simply a matter of clicking onto the NET54 FORUM ARCHIVE CENTER link.
Some of these lists are complete; but, most are still a work in progress. Therefore, any new inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Furthermore, I will try to answer any questions you may have, so feel free to contact me at ...... tedzan11@comcast.net

No PM's.

Bos AL ......................... 5 ............................. 6 ........................... 2 .................... = 13

Phils ............................ 7 ............................. 6 ........................... 0 .................... = 13

Grand total of Major League subjects in the T206 set = 388

NOTE....the Joe Doyle & Sherry Magie error cards are not included in this tally, since they are redundant subjects.

Having received many favorable emails regarding this recently posted T206 team data, I felt it was noteworthy of
adding this information to this archived "Consolidated access ......" T206 thread.

Downey (fielding) is a SOVEREIGN 350 no-print. So, adjust your total to 488.

Default A picture is worth 1000 words............

Here's the group of the 12 tobacco advertisement backs that were printed on the T206 Subjects in the 150 Series............

Note....Any back other than these 12 depicted here on a 150 series subject is a re-fronted (re-backed) fake.
