Wilbur Wood pitched 376.2 innings in 1972, good for 274th highest total in a single season. All totals above his came before 1918, and the large majority of those in the 19th century.

Why does kale have to be the healthiest food? Why couldn't it be the chocolate chip cookie?

In the last day or so, I saw an article titled "Foods healthier than kale", didn't read it though. Maybe I should have to see if chocolate was one of them...

Default Xmas lights

Hi John, I also put up my outside Xmas decorations yesterday. This is one of my most dreaded projects of the year. The only thing worse is taking them down in January when it will probably be zero degrees.

I am hoping that vandals and thieves show up and take the whole works.

Wow - I missed a lot yesterday by traveling down to the shore house to continue the Superstorm Sandy renovation project. The day went exactly as I suspected - lots of busy work and spent $1500 on new media cabinets that were "just perfect" for the remodeled living rooms thereby making them "gotta haves" in my wife's eyes. Sort of how I feel about some of the Old Judges on my want list! : ) Also picked up the special holiday beach badges for next season.

Today before I watch the Giants try not to lose to a team they should absolutely beat, I'll head to the local bookstore to get an autographed copy of CC Sabathia's new book, C C Claus. Hopefully, next year he will gift the Yankees with a 15+ win season.

Default Checking ''Buy-It_Now'' newly listed , pre-war , cards & photos

....because hope springs eternal.

...all that while packing and loading the massive trunk of the old Park Avenue to leave for deer camp so as to get there in enough daylight to visit with the other neighboring camps ; it's several hours drive to Rickett's Glen , Pa. Buck season starts sunrise tomorrow.... And the drive back home next Saturday evening is 120 miles of mountains and valleys with old small coal-regions towns and their Christmas lights....priceless.

Default my day

Putting a humidifier into the furnace ducting…no idea what I'm doing, other than cutting holes into what was once a fine furnace. Finished the first phase, mounting the humidifier, and found a few extra pieces. Moving on to 2nd phase, I found some pieces I couldn't find for first phase. But I did find an installation CD in the bottom of the box. I think I am going to break down and watch it...

I just drove the last 9 hours of the 18 hour return trip from Colonial Williamsburg where I paid $85 a head for Thanksgiving dinner not to mention $350 a night for the room. Did I mention it never got out the 30s while we were there. Actually had a great time because it was with family but man am I tired! Happy holidays.

I never thought I'd get over Faith Hill not doing the Sun Nite FB song, but never mind--Carrie Underwood is "hot" too!

---AND---I'll be playing 18 holes tomorrow here in RI!

Punkin' Chunkin': Super Chunk was lame. No recap of the 2014 contest. Just a top 20 countdown of the most "memorable" moments and some of the air cannons bombarding a fabricated castle with pumpkins. Highly disappointed as it's kind of become a tradition to watch this show during Thanksgiving.

No 2014 contest. Location issue. Moving (allegedly) from Southern Delaware to Central Delaware (Firefly concert venue?) for 2015. Hence, the repeats and no new coverage.

I just watched myself get sniped on eBay. Oh what fun!

Jason- We love your hometown! That was our 11th trip since 1989 and I am sure it won't be or last.

Sadly, I did ot make it by Williamsburg Coin, I usually pick up a few vintage cards there but we were on a schedule that just did not give me any time away.

Is Williamsburg Coin the name of a card shop?

Jason I am pretty sure that is the name of the shop. It has coins and cards and is a really fun place to visit.

The owner is very helpful and while there are no bargains to be had the prices are very fair. I don't get the chance to buy vintage "in person" very often so it nice to actually walk away with something in your hand rather than waiting for the mail man!

The shop is only 2-3 minutes from the historic area though you need to drive because of four lane traffic.

Williamsburg Coin & Stamp - Guy DeWolf
I have address and phone number, if needed.

Also he has a nice selection of military related stuff, though it's been about 1.5 years since I've been there.

This thread has motivated me to ask the very pressing question---

Does anyone really care that Maria Shriver doesn't approve of her son dating Miley Cyrus?

I bought Foo Fighters tickets today for the Kansas City show in August. I would have bought them for the St. Louis date but it was at a venue that I am not fond of. So, 3 1/2 hour drive for a Friday concert and a weekend in KC. Looking forward to it.

Oh, and I'm heading out tonight to pick up a Christmas tree from The Home Depot, in case anyone was wondering.

And, I agree with page 4 (or was it 5), Elf is ranked #1 in my eyes. I couldn't believe that it was on tv starting in October!! I didn't land on that station 'cause I had to know what ELSE was on tv!

Alex - It's called Williamsburg Stamp and Coin. Small shop just outside of the historic area. Has some T206s, mostly commons, a couple of OJs and some other tobacco cards. The last couple of times I've been it seems picked over and I see the same cards each visit.

Here's the address:
321 Penniman Rd Ste A
Williamsburg, Virginia 23185
(757) 229-5544

I just watched the Story of Santa Claus and can't believe that they were able to put together an entire list for every child in the world and they mapped out the entire trip, but then they had to make sure they completed the trip in 12 hours and they were flying east across the Pacific Ocean towards Europe. Did no one there know about the International Date Line? He has about 32 hours to complete that trip, assuming he starts at 10pm in the South Pacific and goes west, finishing around 6am. If he finished in 12 hours, you people in California would have to be asleep by 8am on Christmas Eve! Stupid cartoon.

Also, Santa gave one kid in an orphanage a pocket knife for Christmas...

That's so he could make a break for it! His Christmas wish was to escape!

Kevin

P.S. You're a Pittsburgh fan. Stop watching cartoons and watch the Devils and Penguins.
