Default How about some GOOD stories re the grading companies?

Posted By: E, Daniel

One of the last posts re the "show us sgc mistakes" prompted this, and so, I thought on this gorgeous sunny day I'd throw out a happy thread!
Probably won't get alot of responses, but regardless...............

This 1960 (sorry for OT!!) Kahn's Jerry West missing its tab had been trying to get inside some SGC plastic for a couple of years, but kept getting knocked back (they weren't grading ones missing tabs)! At the last Chicago Show I tried once more, and having built up a bit of a relationship because I attend all the Chicago shows, they decided what the heck and slabbed it for me..........first one, they custom cut the insert, and what's more kind of changed their rules for me......so I am damn, damn happy and grateful to them! And it looks absolutely brilliant!!!
The 14' CJ Johnson is my favourite beater, and I don't tend to like heavily worn cards. PSA? Well, I won't cross it over to SGC as I do all my other vintage because I think the Red Border on their label really makes the card look super super good. I know I know, PSA didn't have to do much for this good story, but hey, you've gotta show some love sometimes don't you!

All the best to everyone.
Daniel

Ps. Sorry for the lame pics, using the computer video capture/ snapshot thingamajiggy.

I just had SGC grade a T206 variation and they were very responsive to my inquiries and kept me in the loop during the process.

I haven't had any experiences, good or bad, with the other companies.

because the baseline expectation is that they will not lose or damage your stuff, accurately and fairly grade it on time, and get it back to you in good shape. Since we expect that to happen, there isn't much else for them to do to generate good stories.

I have many cards graded fairly and accurately by all three companies.
