Default Ruth and DiMaggio fans...what are these?

I have a hand cut babe Ruth card and a Joe DiMaggio card from his San Francisco Seals playing days. Does anyone know what these are?

The image of Joe DiMaggio is reported by SI to have been taken in 1934, but I don't see any cards of it or the Babe anywhere. What are the dimensions of each?

The DiMaggio is 2.25" square and the Ruth is 1 7/8" x 3 3/8", but is hand cut.
