We are pleased to note that we have added three ultra rare
type samples for our recent postings. We thank the true
collectors who responded. Whilst we had to pay a "high price"
the chance to ad high grade Bishops. 1914 Baltimore News
and a team cabinet photo were rewarding indeed.

We are still actively looking for the following. Please write
in confidence to:

The set Mr. Rios refers to was originally in the Superior auction

It commanded a price of $41,000. Said cards were sold individually
on E Bay and none met the minimum bid requirement.

The reason that we did not bid was the cards (with two exceptions)
had stamps on the back and we were not interested in cards with stamps

Mr. Rios, we can assure you, we never miss any opportunity.

We were the underbidder ont the set of T209-1's in SCP. As ya'll know the stamps were part of the mfg process and experienced collectors don't count those as flaws.....

Leons,

The plural of 'ya'll' is 'all ya'll'... please use accordingly.

There were several cards issued without stamps

None sold individually on E Bay

The quality of our collection is such that we prefer, whenever
possible, to have the best examples extant.

Brians.....we appeciate the assistance

Bruces- we only mentioned the mfg process as such as distinguished collecters would want to have all information concerning the cards themselves. We care for the plastic part of collecting very little though we do like unbiased 2nd opinions from experts on the authenticity aspects of our gems....To experienced collectors of high grade cards the factory stamps enhance, rather than detract, from their overall appeal. We fall into this group. We certainly believe in the motto "collect what you like" and understand and appreciate all of yall's positions. Take care

King Robert "the Bruce" of Scotland produced many offspring, both legitimate and illegitimate. Maybe he speaks for the family...

Use of the word "extant" is right up there with "jazz hands" though jazz hands is number 1 of all time.

I did not respond, as I am a false collector...perhaps more true/false, but certainly not simply true.

I had to post in this thread because, while I can add no value to the poster's original intent, I simply cannot pass up an opportunity to be included in a conversation when the term Jazz Hands is used!!!

In fact, I search this forum once per week for the term "Jazz Hands" and I am just thrilled to be here! No. 1 All-Time, indeed.

Actually Brian, I have to disagree with your praise of the Leons use the plural of ya'll. Leons wrote "all of yall's" - proper use would have dictated that he delete the penultimate "of" from his sentence. Had he only deleted that pesky little word - then the sentence truly would have been extant and we could have legitimately given him some jazz hands.

(I wish I had a clue what that last sentence means - but it sounds good regardless)

That's what I love about America. Everyone can voice their opinions....mock mock mock .....I feel when someone is so condescending and arrogant then mockery is the least we can do....Bruces usually take it in stride....I don't see anyone being too hateful. Besides this gets back for the times I email Bruces with responses to his requests and get no response back.....This has recently happened to boot.....so mock mock mock....

Here is my thinking...right or wrong. I don't see actual interference in a transaction here.

About a week ago Bruces said he wanted some Trader Speaks I had listed on BST. I told him I sold a few but had the others left and did he want them. Guess what? No response....This is a habit he has and I have addressed it with him before. So, what comes around goes around......Do you see much mockery of anyone else on the BST?

I think Bruce likes all this attention. Who else on the board could post a want list and get 25+ responses (none of which have anything to do with the want list)?

Peter - it seems to me that this is a thread masked as a wantlist. Bruces posted his wantlist several weeks ago. Then, here, he starts a thread solely to boast about his advertising prowless. Who does that?

Why not just write: "List updated. Thanks to those who helped us cross a few cards off our wantlist."

Peter- although you make a fair point that the posters have been overly harsh on this thread, please consider that the board's frustration is an accumulation of all of Bruce's posts over the last few years.

I have been friends with Bruce for twenty years, and on numerous occasions I have tried to get him to be a little friendlier around here and to post as one of the guys. Clearly I have been unsuccessful. He does grate on people, and he is fully conscious of this. It would be nice if he ditched the "we" also, but even in private emails he will say things to me like "do you think we should buy this card?" Obviously, nothing will change. Hence, the edginess.

I'm sure they will appreciate Peter standing up for them. For a minute, though, I was having MB3 flashbacks...

With Leon, you have to be lucky to get the truth

Here are the facts

1) Leon wrote to us about an item in his auction. We were considering
it for a friend - who decided to pass. Accordingly we did not
bid.

Leon sent us a child-like, angry email- not surprising

2) Trader Speaks- we inquired about a number of back issues
Leon told us some were sold. We said we would get back to
him if we needed the others. We did not. Accordingly, we
did not have any additional correspondence

3) When Leon wanted to buy a piece from us three years ago,
he asked twice for a special price because he owned the Board
implying he would treat us favorably. We eventually sold it
without compromising on our price at all.

4) On several occasions Mr. Luckey has called out that
to us that the BST section was not a place for commentary
Yet, he encourages it

We think America is great country and people should speak their
minds. However, we think if someone is going to make the rules
they should follow them.

By the way, we would like to thank the collectors that have supported
our point and the ones who sold us cards in the last 48 hours.

Ok Bruces....First of all I would like to state I don't think you are an idiot. I only think you act like one. To each his own on that and your feelings about me are probably similar....

1. You said you were looking (for a client) for T202's in PSA 6 or above. We had a really nice Matty in our auction and I emailed you about it. You never responded at all, which is your general rule and totally impolite, imo. I sent you an email saying that you could at least acknowledge the fact I was trying to help. That is called courtesy, which you have none of.

2.Here is the email you sent me on the Trader Speaks:

From: "Bruce Dorskind" <bdorskind@dorskindgroup.com>Add sender to Contacts To: leonl@flash.net
Leon

We will take all the issues of The Trader Speaks
for 1974, 1975 and 1977

Let us know the total- check will be mailed tomorrow"

I emailed you and said a few had been sold and I would be willing to work on the rest for you. You gave absolutely no response, again. You saying you would get back with me is an OUTRIGHT LIE, as far as I remember.

3.When I wanted to buy "a piece" from you a few years ago I offered a lower price then your asking price...which I generally do. You said your price was firm. I don't remember saying anything about me getting special favors as I run the board as that is not what I expect, at all. You had me overnight a bank check to you ....not a personal one but a bank one. I asked that you do the same with the card, upon receipt of payment. When I contacted you, you said you got the check and were on vacation. About a week, or more later, I ended up getting the card. That was ridiculous.

4. I have always said there should be no intereference in deals on the BST....and that is true. I have also said that benign comments by friends are no big deal. We don't want this place to get stale or over policed. Since your requests on the BST is where a lot of your idiocy takes place then I have no problem with the comments. I don't see them happening in too many other threads and they aren't interference in deals, from what I have seen.

warmest regards
leon
