Default T205 Sovereign color variation

So I had been wondering for a while why there were T206 sovereign green color variations but no t205's. I picked up a Mcgraw recently because the color looked odd, so here it is in between two standard color T205 sovereigns. At first I thought maybe it was just an extra dark job and preserved by being glued in a notebook, but I still think it looks like an entirely different shade of green compared with the other two shown. Thoughts?

Looks much different than the Moran but not a whole lot different than the Simmons. It almost looks like it's Bold text.

Interesting idea on the preserved ink you might be onto something there.

I'm no expert on T205s just giving an outside opinion on this.

For years when I was doing my t205 research, I had two lists for Sovereigns...(bright and dark). There really was little difference in the amounts of each at the time and I think every Sov. card could be found with both backs. Really no idea what happened with the colors.

Thanks for the reply Joshua. My picture doesn't do it justice it really does appear a different color. I wasn't suggesting there should be a premium or anything, just that since it occurred in the 06 set it would seem logically possible for it to be so with the 05s.

I found a similar color variation with OBAK backs - red vs maroon - and was assured by a long-time collector that it was just a difference in the amount of ink. Still, I've only seen one maroon and like yours the lettering is just as sharp as the more common 'color'.

...so it could be just a case of more ink (or less), but still be a semi-rarity.
