Default So did you all make out likie bandits in the Lipset auction?

I even found something I could bid on--the A-35 Goodwin Round Album Page. (no.279) It's not perfect, but it's nice. This is the third Round Album page I've won from Lew....couldn't afford any of those beautiful Old Judges or Mayos because I just bought an Old Judge O'Rourke and a Scrapps Brouthers from Terry Knause.

Lew said the 24th results were just a little off from his usual auctions, but the 25th results were way down. I said there was so much great 19th century stuff there, and he said "Maybe too much." I don't think so. I think it's just the economy. Even SCD, which occasionally says something intelligent, said both high and low ticket items are selling well below previous market value.

Julie:

You obviously missed my earlier post:

<< Some People Have LOTS of Money....... October 26 2001, 7:03 AM

Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. I got shut out in Lipset's auction again [I should just tape that and store it somewhere for future use! ]>>

See, I knew saving that would come in handy. I just figured I wouldn't get to use it again until April!

Anyway, congratulations on your new acquisitions!

I'm paying 363 for the big round card. oddly enough, I'm happier than after his last auction when I bid what I thought was safely on an Old Judge Pud Galvin, and then spent the rest of my money (STU-PID) bidding on a couple of Cracker Jacks offered as a unit. The Cracker Jack bid held up all evening; the Old Judge bid, 15 minutes.SOB. That's weeping, not obscenity.

It went for something above $1,000 and below 2,000. VERY, VERY cheap.

Lew's computer crashed on the 25th. He's trying des-perately to get info back. Meanwhile, e-mail him with the stuff you would send in with your payment if you think you were high bidder on something on the 25th. Name, bidder number, lot number, your bid, the latest you know it was good. Don't call. Be patienjt. Yeah, I would ALSO like to know if i won the thing or not!
