Default 1923 V117 Maple Crispette Pie Traynor - Scan Anyone?

Posted By: Mark Tylicki

Can someone on the board please provide me with a scan of this card? I'm curious if it will match up with the portrait theme of my HOF collection - I'm guessing yes.

My knowledge of the V117s is limited to the set description in the SCD.

base2base - You mentioned you have a set. Any information you've gathered about them would be great to hear. Anyone else?

Here are a few pics...

Jim Bottomley RC
Ed Roush
Ray Schalk
Joe Sewell

Thank you kindly - I enjoy this set.

I understand that you are assembling a portrait HOF set. I need a Crispette Bottomley for a grouping which I am assembling. I am wondering if there is a HOF portrait (Bottomley or other)which I could offer to you in exchange for the Bottomley card?

I have been having difficulty locating a Crispette of Sunny Jim. Would you consider an offer of cash?

Or you could just sell the Bottomley to a HOF rc collector like Hal or myself for 10-20 times book.

Mark,

I've been working on the Maple's set for about 5 years, and only recall seeing the Pie Trainer card once, which was offered as part of a near set about 3 years ago. In my experience, he's one of the rarest players in the issue.

Gilbert,

I've been hunting for the Bottomley too..have'nt had any success yet, although I've let several evade my grasp over the years. Best of luck tracking one down..and PLEASE let me know if you find two! ; )

E.

Leon - thanks, I love the Sewell.

Eric/Mark/Gilbert/Hal - I was asking for information regarding the V117 set, not offers Unfortunately, the Bottomley RC is not for sale.

Good luck to you all!

Hal, I've told you that you can have my Bottomley for a McPhee. For some reason, you never contacted me. Sure, it may sound ridiculous. But someday, you'll come crawling ...

How funny that we are talking about two players in the Hall of Fame...

and I would bet you that LESS THAN 1% of all people who attend a Major League Baseball game this season could tell you who both of them are!
