Default 1923 Fleer

I am a for the most part a post war baseball Topps and Fleer collector who has been at it since 1957. My only pre war foray has been the Fleer 1923 set, not for it's beauty as you can see, but as part of my goal for complete Topps and Fleer runs.

The 1923 Fleer set seems to just be the W515 blank back strip set of 60 but with Fleer advertising on the backs. It is presumed, but not certain that all 60 of the W515 cards exist that way.

Anyone else collect them ? Anyone have any for sale ? I still need about half the set

Al thanks for posting the 2 versions of the strip set. From now on when I see the W515's
I'll turn em over to see if they are blank or Fleer ad backs

Wow Al. So you already have about half the set complete with the Fleer backs? That is very impressive as these don't pop up for sale very often at all. Just getting one of them is tough.

I would pay very strong for a boxer w/the Fleer back. I did get this Fleer flip book recently:

Love that flip book, Adam. Never seen it before. Here is a 1923 W515-1 Fleer strip, a W9316 strip (could be ugliest strip series ever) and a Jersey Ice Cream backed W515....

Leon. I've never even heard of the Jersey Ice Cream back. That is spectacular. Thanks for sharing that.
