Here are some crappy quality photos (from cell phone) that will have to do for now...

The first is my most recent pickup... just a beautiful 2-tone trophy with ornate sliding scene depicted.

The second is my favorite of all - The elusive Ty Cobb Trophy. This one is huge, and weighs a ton. The inscription "Safe" appears on the base of this one. A true work of art!

I like this thread, so will show off a few more (sorry to those who may have already seen these in a prior post...)

Interesting that the tall 1915 Glauer Trophy has the same Early Baseball Equipment Motif as the one Jimmy just acquired...

Last batch... The Gold one is cool, in that it opens up in the middle to serve as a cigarette holder...

Amazing stuff Ricky. Especially that Giant Pitcher Trophy posted at the end, and the Spalding Catcher. That's not the one just recently concluded in Hunts, is it?

Regardless of how you acquired it.... many congrats!

Thanks. The catcher was not from Hunt. I actually acquired it in a huge trade along with the Spalding basemen from a private collection. I gave a lot of rare gloves and ad stuff for it, but I'm really thrilled! The bottom pitcher is a good sized one although I don't know if that was it's original base. I saw a similar topper on a Rawlings trophy. BTW, on your Cobb trophy, does the inscription say "baseball"? The last one I saw had a "Mush ball" inscription on it. I love that loving cup you have with the sliding ball player on it! That may be next on my list along with the Spalding fielder.

Wow, those are some amazing trophies!
Mark, I love the Ty Cobb sliding and the Spalding batter.
Ricky, your Spaldings are great too, and so is that Murray Co piece -- is it very heavy?
Here are the few that I have, and they pale in comparison. A couple are Silver Glove Awards, the minor league equivalent to the Gold Glove. And the kind of plain ugly loving cup was presented to Jack Barry of the A's before he reached the majors.

A few favorites from my collection.

This large cup has figural bats around the central support.

Mike:

That D&M Trophy is stunning. It really has it all- from the crossed bat support to the loving cup, to the classic D&M Logo Ball, to that great pitcher figural at the top. Also, it may be the nicest conditioned trophy I have ever seen from that era...

Do you have to continually maintain/polish it, or does it just stay that way? Most of these trophies look great with some tarnishing and aging, as it enhances the vintage look and patina. But yours is simply spectacular in its pristine state!

Good question Mark. It is completely tarnished as I look at it over in the corner of my office...ha ha. I've cleaned it a couple times with a very gentle cleaner, but don't keep up on it well. Those pics were taken when I purchased it years ago.

Default I guess this is part of a trophy...

I picked this one up on ebay a couple of years ago. Also came with the original Rawlings box it was shipped in.

Default These were presented to the Yankee Old-timers on Aug, 22 1953

Joe DiMaggio received one of these and his was auctioned off in the DiMaggio/Hunt Auction a few years back. This stellar example is in NM/MT condition.

Fabulous items. For those of us not familiar with this branch of the hobby, (and currently sitting at home), what price range do these fall in?
Thanks, John
