Default Question on old Bill Dickey photo

I don't really collect photos usually but must have got this a long time ago. I hear phrases such as type 1 and first generation photos but not sure what that means. I see many of you here collect photos and maybe could shed a little light on this one. Someone wrote Dickey and 1939 on back and Dickey has a 1939 patch on his sleeve so that much I do know.

Without having it in hand, it does look like a vintage, what they would call "Type I" to me.

If the image is clear, it should be Type 1. ACME was an old time company. At the very least, the ACME stamp proves it's old. They changed the name in the 1950s.

Type 1 is just another name for original.
