Default Thanks to all who bought my cards for the smooth dealings

Just completed the set, and while it was fun, its just not much fun without being able to discuss cards with others. Since it seems that more people want to fight than talk cards on both here AND over on CU, I have decided to part ways with both forums as well as with my collection. Below is a list. Some of these backs can be seen in my "rare backs" thread. I can produce scans of the others on request. Rather sell here than on ebay. Prices are shipped...break on 2 or more cards obviously.

Drum Rube Kroh PSA 2---$2540.....Unavailable
Lenox Happy Smith PSA 2---$850....SOLD
BL350 Purtell SGC 10 ---$310.........SOLD
CB Dineen SGC 30---$395..............SOLD
Hindu brown Bergen PSA 2---$360...SOLD
Cycle 460 Sheckard PSA 4---$200...SOLD
Cycle 350 Arellanes SGC 40---$120...SOLD
AB 460 Geyer SGC 50---$325...........SOLD
AB 350 (Fm) O'Brien SGC 60---$290...SOLD
AB 350 (no Fm) McQuillan PSA 3---$95....SOLD

Total on all is $5485....Will sell the whole lot at $5,000 DLVD if someone wants it. All payments must be either Paypal "gift", or USPS money order. Responses IN THIS THREAD will get priority. Thanks.

Scan of the Lenox per request:

Edited to add that there is no drum scan that I can see...

Phil, I'll just paypal gift to the email address you've sent past payments to me from. Still no drum scan...and by that I mean the back scan of the drum is not coming up on my iPhone while everything else is visible.

Yeah, I could tell SOMETHING was there. For some reason all of the other pictures on my iPhone were loading, but that wasn't, and it was leaving a little blue box with a question mark in it. Just got home, and on a regular computer the pic comes up just fine.....weird.

Anyway, any chance you can e-mail me a closer scan of the Drum? I'll PM you as well....thx!

Oh, o.k. On the Drum, in the top right corner of the back, is that a bleed of blue ink, or a stain or is that the image coming through....I'm squinting but the pic won't get bigger.

That is a blue stain of some sort. No idea what caused it though. A very light portion of that stain does bleed through to the front of the card as well, now that I really look at it.

Last edited by Chicago206; 04-06-2010 at 05:13 PM. Reason: stain

What is so "fishy"? Please explain that if my intentions were to rip people off, surely there would be a better way to do it rather than a big blowout? Correct? I would sneak in, make a few jovial posts, and then BAM! Thats how i'd do it if I were a thief. You think i'd make a huge stink, and then admit im leaving this forum and THEN try to BST my cards and not deliver? Wow!

My word is golden...maybe my attitude isnt though. Either way, I've had enough of the BS. Maybe i'll go buy the family a boat instead. Spending more time with my wife and son beats fighting with morons anyday of the week.

As per the forum rules: In the B/S/T area there should be no interference in the posts by 3rd parties...this includes, but is not limited to, talking about what someone paid for something. Only persons involved in the transaction should be posting but benign comments can be ok. If you don't know the difference then don't post. Also, if any fraudulent activity is known about it can be posted in the BST threads, pertaining to that item, by 3rd parties. This is for the protection of the board. Caveat Emptor still is in effect.

I've already given one infraction, the next person that chimes in here with an insult or interferes with this thread will also get one.

We're starting to see the influence of the recent migration of some CU Forum members to this board. This kind of stuff goes on all the time over there - a lot of nasty, unprovoked attacks and hate posts. They've made the environment unbearable over there for quite some time and now their looking for a new forum environment that they can pollute. You can pick them out of this post. Mods beware.

I don't buy the above statement.

If you didn't enjoy them, you wouldn't have bought them.

After the sale, there's no reason whatsoever for you to stick around the board.

That is unless you have allowed some meatballs to get the best of you, just when you were so close to having a complete t206 back set?

Lots of luck, and again I say, I hope you don't regret the sell off.

Joe

I did enjoy them....putting the complete 15 card basic backs set together was one of the most fun things I have ever done. When I bought the above mentioned Drum in Rosemont, I was stuck in a traffic jam for 90 minutes going home. I literally got a headache because I couldnt stop smiling!!! In fact, although I have already sold off the majority of my cards in the past 48 hours, a big part of me wants to just put this card away and forget about it. The one sure thing I know about myself is that my interest in things is very cyclical. So if I ever DO want to get back into the hobby, I'd at least have one heckuva start!!! I actually may do this if the card doesnt sell by Saturday. Thats my 35th birthday, and its hard to imagine a better gift to myself than this card. If someone does snag it before then, im certain they will get alot of enjoyment out of owning it. And im young enough to be able to easily get back into the hobby from square 1 anyway. Took me just 4 months to complete the 1st goal I set for myself. Might take 4-6 months to repeat if I find the interest in doing so again.

Default thank you...

phil...
for accepting my offer.
i am genuinely sorry that your t206 experience was so alienating...
i bought my first in 1964 (at the age of 13), and these cards have been a persistant passion ever since!
you & your raw excitement will be missed in the t206 community, and i sincerely hope that you'll return sometime in the future.
best wishes,
mark
ps- payment will be completed tomorrow am, after i deposit funds.

Chicago, this is a statement that I believe, but I doubt if usernametaken will understand what we're talking about.
We're on the same page.

If the card is meant to stay ... It would be a hell of a re start.
There's only a handfull on this board that understand what we're talking about.

Don't let the meatballs get to you ... that's all they're good at, and they fail whenever they're confronted.
At 79, and from NYC, I've been there a few times.

With, or without the Drum ..... have a Happy Birthday!

Default infraction

Joe P just got an infraction for his escapades in this thread. Anymore interference in this thread, by anyone, and it will be a suspension from the BST. If you are not buying or selling a card then stay out of it please.
