Default Not a fan of Jim Rice cards

This Hall of Fame legend deserved much better cards. Almost all of his cards are head shot photos. I guess his 1977 Topps is cool. Are there any Jim Rice cards that you like?

I like his 1978 so much I put it in my Wall of Fame. But yeah, a lot of his others are boring.

Interesting project...can you do a separate post on your wall of fame?

Will do. Look for it in about 30 min in the postwar section of N54.

Since I like the "flair" of the rookie cup and AS badges, the 76 & 79 are thumbs up for me, but his 80 Tops is probably his best looking "vintage" card.

1980 Topps is a great looking card and I've always liked '76 - his first solo Topps card and the big trophy.

This was a fave when I was opening packs as a kid. The 52 for Foster was just so nuts!

My 14 year old has this signed by Rice and I'm hoping to help him get Foster on there too

I've always liked the '77 Topps Rice, with the newly remodeled Yankee Stadium in the background.

Despite what some may think, Jim Rice was actually a fine left fielder at Fenway. He knew that wall as well as anyone. Does anyone know of any cards that picture him actually making a defensive play?

The only ones I recall are a couple of Fleer cards of Rice. Unsure if he’s actually making a play, but he was in the field with a glove in hand if I’m recalling correctly.

The 80 is about as good as it gets.
