Do I really need to point any of the silly signs that this auction is a joke? First off, the T206 Burke isn't rare. Second, it isn't worth 20k. And third, the seller can almost guarantee that without a picture, this card won't sell. Maybe I'm being a bit of a nitpicker, the shipping is free after all.

He does indeed have a rare card if the Burke caard is a 150 series card. Since he is a minor leaguer and they are supposedly only in the 350 series than this is a one of a kind card.

So it is possible that this seller COULD have a one of a kind variation? I'm guessing no. Maybe I'm overly suspicious, but I'm just a little wary of people who can sell 20k cards but can't afford a scanner so that they can throw up a pic for potential bidders. If I had a card for sale even worth a quarter of what this guy's asking, I'd have pictures all over the place.

Likely, it is someone inexperienced who has overestimated the value of the item he owns. Overestimating the value is a common malady for beginners, especially for those who have read the stories about the $1 million Honus Wagner, $3 million McGwire 70HR Ball or watch the Antiques Road Show. With a minimum of $20,000 (plus reserve) it's a harmless auction, as it's unlikely that anyone would place a bid.

It reminds me of Steve Martin said in an interview. Martin is not only an actor but an advanced art collector. He said that if you are considering investing in high end paintings, start by buying a painting then trying to resell it.
