Here's a cool one! a 1939 RPPC of players marching down main street in front of the baseball hall of fame. Greenberg & Dizzy are at the far left and I'm pretty sure that's Stengel in the middle

Here's another beauty, a C. 1910's Navin Field Postcard. This one is packed with writing on the reverse and has a Beech Nut Sticker on it for some strange reason. Thanks Jeff!

Here's one of my favourite hockey postcards, a real nice 1912-13 Real Photo Postcard of the Quebec Bulldogs championship team loaded with hall-of-famers! Included in the image are Joe Hall, "Phantom" Joe Malone, Patrick "Paddy" Moran & Tommy Smith. Postally unused and real clean!

Won this postcard from the recent REA. Wood beat Tesreau 4-3. Am assuming Giants are in the field but need to put it under the microscope to be sure.

Default Capital "W" WOW !!

...I was a way lower underbidder on that Hack postcard.....if another one exists , it's probably in a museum in Brooklyn. Great win. That whole Beethoven auction that night was amazing stuff.

I think this is from 1907 (if you know the date, please share). It features the flooded streets around the Pirates Exposition Park.

Top is a 1943 "Monterrey Baseball Club" Real Photo Postcard which has a young Roy Campanella sitting far left. Hopefully someday I can over pay for his individual card from this same team to go along with it.

Bottom picture is one of my favorite bands which I saw in concert back in the 80s and their music never gets old.

This one could be a lot better. It is Wagner, with a big glue spot over a large section of the front. It also appears to be a photo of a photo (given the black bar at the bottom).

Nice grab on the Monterrey PC from the recent RMY auction. I was one of the under-bidders. You got a steal in my estimation...but I couldn't go any higher since I have that "individual card" you speak of!!

Just got this anonymous 1906 Chicago White Sox postcard in the mail today:

When I compare it to the copy of the V.O. Hammon team postcard that I have, it looks like they were both taken at the same sitting, with the players repositioning themselves between photos...

Sorry if this had been brought up before, but I thought that it was interesting.

Honus Wagner mailed this postcard from '13 spring training to his girlfriend and future wife Bessie Bain Smith. He signed it "Jay" which I assume was a nickname between he and his girl (he was also called "Buck Jay" by certain family members later in life)

Anyway, I like the personal nature of this postcard.

Love the postcard, Jeff. This photo was at auction at one of the AHs a year or so back. I didn't bid on it but saved the image.

Their wedding photo from 1916. Beautiful gal. I hope she was just sitting down.

Can't for the life of me remember which AH had it. It's date-stamped in my computer to March 28, 2015 which at least nails down the timeframe if that's any help.

I'd guess some people called him "Jay" because of his first initial.

This isn't just the baseball postcard thread! It's getting real tough to find hockey postcards with hall of fame players so I'm real happy a buddy of mine made these available to me. Nothing beats picking up your stuff in person!

• 1907-08 Pembroke Debating Club Hockey Team RPPC. Includes Hall Of Famer Frank Nighbor (Misspelled "Neighbor")
• 1908 Pembroke Lumber Kings Team Postcard. Includes Hall Of Famer Hugh Lehman (Goalie)

sweet postcards! I honestly thought that my c1913-15 Comet Photo Studios Maranville was unique, but it looks like you have one as well.

Nice looking postcards you've got there! Congrats!

Jim, that looks beautiful. You have some wonderful post cards. I have daydreamed of doing something like that, but certain fears have always shut down the idea. My only concerns are that they are easy to steal (rather than in a safe or safety deposit box), and the possibility of fading due to light exposure. I applaud your bravery, and love that you truly enjoy your cards in a way most of us cannot. Did you address these issues by taking any special precautions like a special tint on the glass, alarm system, bolting to the wall, etc?

Derek, that is a Comet Photo Studios Maranville that you spied. It is partially affixed to scrapbook material and may have come from the Maranville family. My photo is taken from afar, but you might be able to to make out what I believe to be his signature on the left side of his PC. I think at least 6 to 8 of the RPPCs shown are unique to the best of my knowledge, but I wouldn't mind being proven wrong on here.

Orlando, I share your concerns and have done my best to address them. I am a judge by profession and they hang in my chambers behind armed bailiffs at the courthouse entry and in the courtroom. No guarantees, but I think they are as safe there as anywhere. As for the light issue, they are behind TruVue Museum glass that supposedly blocks 99%+ of the UV light, I have hung them in the darkest corner of the room and I plan to rotate out my collection through them at least once a year. Ultimately, I take little joy in that part of my collection that is locked away. The risks I take are outweighed by the pleasure I take in seeing them daily.

Nice displays! Can you tell me who is in the bottom frame, top row, second from the right? And where was the photo taken at? Looks very similar to some of my RPPCs of Brooklyn players at Hot Springs.

That is Maranville, I am not sure of the location but it is circa 1912-1914. Derek may be able to tell us more.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure it's from 1913 as the Comet Photo Studios marking on the back is the same marking that is on the July 1913 Maranville Day Postcard that Jeff Prizner now owns.

Jim - Even cooler that yours may have been autographed by Maranville as well!

Did a little research on this one! Postcard has an AZO stamp box with 4 squares, and by looking at the cars and games against the Phillies listed on the marquee (June 4-5-6) I'm comfortable saying this is a 1938 RPPC.

Here's an awesome postcard I scooped up from ebay a couple of weeks ago. It's a 1910 RPPC of William "Bill" Lange (Chicago Colts Center Fielder 1893-1899). Did some research on how he ended up in this sweet ride and I found this explanation:

"Chicago Daily News photos of the now 39-year-old Lange show him in fit physical condition, belying reports that Lange’s weight had ballooned to over 300 pounds. In appreciation for his service to the earlier Chicago club, Cubs fans took up subscriptions that resulted in a handsome Chalmers touring car later being presented to Lange."

Also, he used this postcard to advertise his Real Estate & Insurance business in San Francisco after his retirement from the Chicago Colts in 1899
