Default 1917 White Sox paperweight

Any chance this is real or is this a fantasy piece?

It reads "All Hail The 1917 Champions"

Default texture seems unusual

might just be your pic.. I am always leery of paperweights where the "image" isn't fused or sealed in - and the protective felting just another "look more closely" moment. I have seen quite a few faked paperweights related to gambling and tobacciana - typically a label or similar is glued in..... Not my area of expertise and having it in hand requisite to proper identification.
Of course there might be nothing wrong. Personally I don't like the idea that a pinback exists with the image - the largest advertising novelty producers issued very few paperweights in glass and likely the pinback manufacturer would have had rights to the image - meaning they would have had to produce both. Just conjecture of course - a moment or two to pass the time - a puzzle to examine with limited information (at least available to me).

no guarantees whether written or implied.
