Posted By: Jim Manos

I purchased a cabinet from 1911 and it has a pennant that states 1911 S.A.B.B.L. Champions. Looks like a pro team or minor league team of some sort. I have seen SABBL before just cannot remember what it stands for or what league. something S___? A____? Base Ball League?? Can anyone Help??

The other cabinet I have has H O R on the button area top to bottom on there shirts with something on there left arm patch area ?? Northwest League??

Regards,

Jim Manos

South Atlantic Base Ball League? They were around in 1911...commonly referred to as the "Sally" league.

Hmmm...the South Atlantic League in 1911 consisted of the following teams: Columbus, Augusta, Chattanooga, Charleston Jacksonville, Savannah, Macon, and Columbia. I don't think any of those teams fit.

Are you positive that it's HOR and not NOR? New Orleans was the champion of the Southern Association in 1911. I've never heard of the Southern Association referred to as the SABBL though.
