An amazing two sets between the M101-5 and -4's--which I hope gets more recognition with the notoriety of the Ruth Rookie.
I have to agree with Connor. I was thinking in the $600K - $650K range. A Ruth rookie in any grade hasn’t surfaced n a while, and this PSA 4 example will reap the benefits of high-end collectors chomping at the bit to purchase one.

Punching well above my weight, but I wont care to believe the final result anyhow. This was a 20k card in 2010, but alas, it is a Ruth RC.

Just think about 20k to 3/4 of a million bucks in 10 years. It makes no sense to this pauper.
Sense and this hobby often have a weak relationship, or none at all.

I’ll guess at a cool million for this one when all is said and done.

Closed for $510k. Same exact price as last time it sold.

Well duh???? Guessing it will "pop" up again in yet another auctions house like a game of hot potato. This was a 30k card not that long ago.

Guess People just figured out it is a ruth rookie.

Calling the top...

Still a good price considering the price growth shows the price is stable/strong but I agree they should not have attempted to buy it and try and flip I right away.

Good looking card for someone’s collection if it is for a collector

Seems like an odd coincidence.

I had a deep wistful feeling when I saw this post. Many moons ago back in Full Count days I bought from Lew Lipset a raw Ruth rookie, which was subsequently graded a 5 by Derek Grady when he was chief grader at SGC. Lew's price: $4,750. Long gone, of course.

I was thinking we pool our net54 money and buy it as a group and we can store it in Leon’s basement and we can all have partial shares.

You jest, but Gretzky bought his Wagner with the owner of the Kings. Most sport team owners put together groups to buy their franchise. I am not into fractional shares, but it is very normal for a group of people to “club” together to buy something, which basically is a fractional share. And, I think the Heritage Ruth is a great card and a longer-term money maker and I think it makes sense for people to pool cash to buy it.

I've got the first 10 bucks to throw in. And we can stash it in one of my doghouses.
