Not sure how a back can ever be unknown, but that spot on the upper left of the case makes me suspicious of it being cracked open at some point.

I looked it up on the PSA Certification Verification app and it looks like the flip number agrees with the card. On the Verification app the "variety" was left blank. There may have been a data entry error where the variety was accidently not filled in, and "Unknown" was the default. Someone with more knowledge of PSA may be able to add to this. Anyway, card worth probably more like $45-50.

Default Vernon

Hi Vernon, that is what I thought, too. $35-$45, and I think VG3 is a generous grade for this card.

Default A rebacked Drum

The card has been cracked out with the original Drum back being obscured by the added "super rare" Piedmont 350 back. A water soluble glue was probably used to facilitate soaking, if one were foolish enough to try to remove the Piedmont back. Drum backs wouldn't be so rare if the majority of them hadn't been rebacked.

A Piedmont 350 is an 'Unknown Back' to those unfamiliar with T206 cards, so thus in the worldwide scheme of things it is fairly accurate designation by PSA.

Now if this back was unfamiliar to the PSA graders...

Default Drums

Thank you, Frank. I knew there was a logical explanation.

Maybe since the variety was left blank they thought it was a blank back!!
