Default Does Bush collect T206s?

Posted By: Pete Z.

I remember reading an article before the 2000 election that George W. has a collection of old tobacco cards. His interest in baseball is documented in his involvement with the Rangers. A google search comes up empty. If he does, my next question is does he own a Wagner? I'm sure he'd say that finding one would be easier than finding wmd. Thanks.

My searches have always been very very fruitful: a few words to an old hymn unearthed the author and the tune and country of origin; "what is a tokoba****a" unearthed the correct spelling (tokobashira), meaning and significance; request to have a 15h century French song translated was complied with. Loads of stuff on early hockey. Reviews of my favorite early movies.

Never tried Beating Around the Bush, though. Lots of Nolan Ryans?...

If Clinton collected T206s...

I'm sure he would insist on only cards without "stains".

No Clinton only collects "oversized" T206s from what I understand.

I believe you are right about Bush and his T206 collection. I think he did give an interview that he had a massive T206 collection. But, unfortunately, none can be found now.

Clinton wouldn't collect vintage cards, he is only in to the more modern era. Surprisingly although he can afford it, he steers clears of HOFers and instead only goes for promising rookies and journey(wo)men.

I heard he only collects Hall of Famers that were voted in by a committee, not voted in by ballots.

I also hear he has a large collection of players named "Dummy", not sure why?

Bush is the latest in a long line of presidential card collectors.
Carter admitted to lusting after other collections in his heart, but was sure he'd be forgiven for it.
Ford only collected cards of football players that, like him, played without wearing their helmets.
And Nixon, when caught trimming cards and selling them in PRO holders, proclaimed "I am not a crook"

But the cards all turned out to be damaged, fakes and fogeries. It was a good experience for George and a bad buy for the purchasers.

Somewhere in a safety deposit box in Alabama, along with his National Guard papers.

The problem is that we can't find anyone that can recall seeing him during that period, or remember what bank he used.

We'll keep you updated on this developing fable as we piece it together from shreds of evidence being slabbed to us by sources in the eBay protection program using Private ID's.

Stay tuned.

were all taken with digital cameras, but it cannot be determined whether these photographs were actually authorized by MLB, or made with private inititive.

also collects baseball cards, but no one has been able to pin him down on the subject. It's also difficult to discover which team he roots for.

Which doesn't bode well when facing the Evil Empire, be it the bronx pinstripers or the guys who belong in pinstripes in small rooms.

why would you expect Gov. Bush to suddenly break with form and tell the truth about his cards? Or, did God tell him to attack the card markets too?

The Republicans are blaming stories about Bush's card collection on the left wing media consperacy.

Bush has heard rumors that the legend of the t206 Wagner is not true. He has announced the formation of a committee to look into this and Haliburton will be award all contracts involved in getting to the bottom of why the Wagner card is so rare.

Since I am a member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, I took the liberty of sending "W" an email and asking if he had a T206 collection.

If I get a response, I'll let you know.
