Thoughts on Griffey, Jr.?

I will say the same thing that I said about the Koufax ball recently shown. The pen pressure is terribly hard and even all through the signature and Griffey was always fast and smooth.

Very good, Jason! I was just about to chime in and say the same thing.
Here is what I typed:

One important thing to note about Ken Griffey, Jr's signature is that he happens to sign without applying a lot of pressure to the pen. Eddie Murray and Rod Carew are others that have the same tendencies.

FWIW, the person that penned the "Griffey" ball in question appears to have applied quite a bit of pressure when they signed this ball.

Here is an example of an IP Ken Griffey Jr. ball that he signed for me in 1991. Note that his pen strokes are deliberate, but almost "wispy" at the same time.

My IP Griffey is from his rookie season and is very similar to Scott's except the "y" is a bit shorter.

+1 I have a few in person Griffs and that one doesn't feel right.

I've never seen the "Jr" quite look like that as well as the Y seems to have an extra flair on the end.

The long tail on the Y is ok for an early Griffey, but I agree that the "Jr." is weird and the pressure overall is too deliberate.

Still doesn't sit right with me. There is so many Griffey examples out there I would pass and keep looking. Better than the last one you asked about but something doesnt look right. JMO

Not an expert but agree with what others have said, I have a UDA-certified ball with a Griffey signature that almost looks faded, however, I think it's just a lack of pressure from when he signed.

Have a Tony Gwynn ball that looks the same way (Tristar if I remember right).
