Lou gehrig original snapshot photo july 4, 1939
75 years today a fan who was at yankee stadium took this snapshot photograph. An amazing one of a kind i just purchased last week along with an original 1941 ticket stub and press photo for the gehrig monument dedication. Enjoy

Yeah, really neat pick up. Also cool seeing field from high angle. I guess I'd always assumed the grass/infields were a little messier back then, but it looks pretty immaculate. Makes me wish all the more that I could've attended a game back then.

News accounts and photos of that day show the players from both teams on the field for the presentation. I cannot help but wonder at what point the players either entered or exited the field leaving those featured in this picture out there.
