Default early 40s uniform and all star belt buckle

A picker friend of mine just brought this uniform and belt buckle over claiming they are Joe D's and is offering to sell them to me. Well, I told him they aren't Joe D's, but to come back after supper and I'll give him an answer. He offered the buckle to me for 300, didn't give me a price on the uniform. I wanted to get them posted here to get some thinghts as he tells me theres someone else interested in them and would like to move them fast. I have them here and can take more photos. Thoughts all?

The buckle is pretty cool, The uniform just might be cooler - but a very long shot at being cooler.

"New York Yankee star Joe DiMaggio and comedian Red Skelton, both serving with the Army, were temporarily assigned to the Camp. DiMaggio autographed baseballs for wounded soldiers and gave hitting and fielding lessons, while Skelton made unannounced visits to the hospital for his version of "laugh therapy." "

The camp? Camp Kilmer.

Default Uniform &

I wonder if the belt buckle might be from an A/S game in the South Atlantic League. Also called the Sally League-I believe.
You might Google this league and find a connection to an early 1940's team from that city.

Already done, no SA team in a town named Kilmer. Near as I can find, no minor league team at all in a town named Kilmer. Possibly a Kilmer Ohio amateur team, or a company team from one of the companies named Kilmer in PA. (or elsewhere)

If it was priced as a typically grubby amateur uniform from the 40's I'd be interested in taking a chance on it myself.
