I hope it is alright to start a new thread; some of the scans in the last one aren't showing up any more since they are more then a week old.

Not a card...not even close, but I figured some of you would appreciate an old phonograph. This Brunswick model YO has been in my family since it was manufactured in the early 20's. It sat in my grandparent's basement for the last 50+ years. Amazingly it only took some very light sanding, tung oil, and the replacement of the silk covering the horn to get it looking like this. It is in perfect working condition. I have hundreds of old 78's and have really enjoyed listening over the past few months.

An actual vintage card:

Just liked it, dont know ANYTHING about it other than the fact it is supposed to be a 1910 era postcard. If there is anymore to know, please fill me in!

Great Brownie Matt! He must've been quite the sensation back in ol' Chitown.

Brandon,

I believe what you have there is a "baseball lovers" postcard, PC798. Reminds me of the recent discussion of all the different ways one can get to first base.

It was the one that ended last night.....Maybe I paid too much, who knows? I figured I would have one printers mistake and this is it.....I never said anything about it until after the auction...then it was just some kidding around.....It will have a good home....I do think it's a neat card....and with other astronomical prices I see on less spectacular cards didn't think it was too bad....Didn't Barry just sell a semi common caramel in a 6 holder for over 10k? Like I say....who knows....but I will enjoy the card..

Leon - it's a great pickup; several people own T206 Planks and Wagners, but no one else has one of those.

You are right....generally speaking (and this is blasphemy on this board) I don't get too excited about T206....

Leon...you dirty dawg you!

congrats!

i know i kept on saying it was only worth $4500...that was a bidding tactic on my part! haha...

obviously it is worth much more than that, since there were several bidders in the $8K plus region...

make sure you bring it to the Nat'l, i want to see it in person!

that is awesome, glad you got it...

just picked up 2 different T206 lots in last night's Huggins & Scott Auction, which total 311 cards...

i've been slowly working on a raw T206 set, which will be simply displayed in a binder (old school)!

Congrats Leon!

Nice pickup of the T206 with the busy back.

I'll be more than happy to help ease your pain by giving a catcher card a new home.

Nice.

If the rounded corners start bugging you, I have a Mullaney in much better condition. Its raw, but I bet it would grade better than "Authentic," and I'd be willing to trade down if you're interested.

I never had a prayer of winning it, but its nice to know it found a good home. Even though I've never been to your house. Enjoy.

David, nice win. I had those T215 on my radar all week. Of course I get called to work while the auction ends and never put in a bid.

.......... just when you thought it was safe to go back in the W519/521 water ..........

This cards is interesting (at least to one or two people) in that it is arguably the reverse image W521, and that the W521's were issued in reverse numerical order as well. This is based on the fact that #20 Zbyszko is to the left of #19 Flamier ("20 to a Set" markings):

(((( oh, Zbyszko is the July pick-up, the rest is just babble ))))) ( )))

Hi Robert -
Cy has a light wrinkle that runs horizontally from border to border
just above "Cleveland" on his chest that doesn't show on the reverse.
Still shoulda' been awarded a 40??? Find me a nicer "2"...

Tony
