Here is the hat rack my dad made for me. It's a little more cluttered with Pirates items now, but somehow the hats are still in the same order three years later

Its been a long time since Sid Slid this thread can't go away that easily I will post some more meaningless Bucs trinkets as this thread is salve to this old Pirate fan's soul.
I just received the 1979 World Series press credentials. It is the first time I saw press credentials as they were originally issued. During that series I was 16 and my best friend was an Oriole fan. I made the mistake of watching the first four games at his house. He really enjoyed rubbing the salt in my wounds. I remember walking the three miles home in the rain after the Bucs dropped game four. I couldn't bear that smug smile and refused a ride in his car . As you know Pops and the Family took care of business and the world was made right. I grew up to marry my high school girl friend and will be celebrating 24 years of marriage next week. I am now a happy, optimistic, if not mildly dysfunctional middle aged adult. My friend on the other hand developed a coke problem, never married, and is currently unemployed. Both he and John Lowenstien can still kiss my a**. Last edited by 71buc; 09-12-2013 at 01:42 AM. |

Pirates
It's not for me, as an Astro's fan, to say that you guys are getting a little carried away. Win a playoff series and I will post my Pirates 60's shopping center give-away near set. |

Trust me my family agrees with you. I am enjoying the moment and am terrified that the play off you refer to is of the one game variety. I chose to post the 60's shopping center give away instead of my 1970s Pirate coloring book. As for your Astros, my brother in law lives in Houston and shares your affliction. Although he is a much better player in Altuve you even have your own Freddy Patek

Original artist sketch of Pie Traynor. Press stamp on back dated 6 Oct 1927. Press stamp did not come out well with scan, was located where we put the little yellow mark. We believe the sketch came out of Cleveland Press, but have not confirmed that yet.
Sorry for the watermark. Attachment 114039 Attachment 114040

Being a Wash. Nationals' fan, I also need something to cheer me up after the Pirates' collapse last night. Brian, trading me your WaJo and/or Sam Rice that I covet would do the thick!! I'm even willing to trade you this card for your Pirates collection:
Best, Val |

Val,
A nice open letter type of offer, but the addict on this end can't give up his fix! |

Incredible, simply incredible!!!! Your collections are amazing, guys. I can't tell you how much I am enjoying this.
The Pirates are two games back of the Cardinals, but virtually assured of taking one of the two Wild Card spots. Still, I want the Bucs to win the NL Central. Wily Peralta is starting for the Brew Crew later today against the Cardinals, and while I always cheer for the Brewers, I am cheering all the louder today because if we beat the Cardinals, and you guys beat the Reds, the Pirates are a game out of first.
