Default T205 Downey backs

How many different backs are there for Thomas Downey's T205 card? I just noticed that Jim O'Rourke is mentioned on the back of the Downey card. Since I collect all things O'Rourke I'd like to see images of each variation, so please post them if you have them. I've located these three so far:

Not a pretty card but definitely a tough back.

Default Downey backs

The confirmed backs for Downey are: American Beauty Black, Broadleaf Black, Hassan Fact. 30, Honest Long Cut, Piedmont Fact. 25, Piedmont Fact. 42, Polar Bear, Sovereign, and Sweet Cap. Red.

Possible is Hassan Fact. 649, Broadleaf Brown (not sure what the color is above but I suspect it is a faded black) and Cycle...I doubt either of these but just not sure. Would love to see scans of these though.

Hope this helps.

Joshua

Hi Joshua,
The Downey is the olive green version, rather than just a faded black. It is a bit tough to tell by the scan but it is easy to tell when in hand and is definitely the green/brown version.

Is there more than one ink color per back variation...such as Hassan Fact. 30 only green, Piedmont Fact. 25 only blue, etc.?

As far as I know, there are three with 2 different color backs: Broadleaf with green & black, American Beauty with green and black, and Sweet Cap with red and black.

So, from the above posts, this is the known T205 Downey checklist:
('x' indicates image posted)

x - Sweet Cap. Red
x - Cycle
x - Broadleaf Olive Green/Brown
x - Hassan Fact. 30
x - Honest Long Cut
x - Piedmont Fact. 25
Piedmont Fact. 42
American Beauty Black
American Beauty Green
Broadleaf Black
Polar Bear
Sovereign
Sweet Cap. Black

Any other backs or color variations to add?
Six scans posted, seven more to go.

Fairly certain it does NOT come with American Beauty green or either of the Sweet Cap. black backs...not all cards come with all color variations on the back.

I should have been more specific, I didnt mean Downey, it was a blanket t205 statement. In fact, and Joshua L. can correct me if I'm wrong, a player will have one color of AB, SC, or BL, but not the other.

btw: nice to have a t205 thread!

So if you are correct, then Downey should not have Sweet Cap. Black or the Broadleaf Black, and only one American Beauty variation (but which one, black or green?)
This would be the updated checklist:

x - Sweet Cap. Red
x - Cycle
x - Broadleaf Olive Green/Brown
x - Hassan Fact. 30
x - Honest Long Cut
x - Piedmont Fact. 25
Piedmont Fact. 42
American Beauty Black or Green
Polar Bear
Sovereign

Anyone have a Downey American Beauty to post?

I can confirm an AB black that I once owned. I also owned a Cycle, Pied 42, and marc's BL at one point was mine a few yrs back.

Also I belive the SC backs are not of any specific order like AB. Doesn't Wojo come in both SC black and red?

It is nice to have a T205 discussion.

I've got a Sovereign back, but we've been trying for 30 minutes to get a clear picture of it and we're not having any luck.

Is the Hassan Fac 649 ruled out? Also, The SGC Pop reports list 1 with a Drum back. Is that possible?

Drum is possible....Also, there are cards that come with both Sweet Cap colors and a very few come with both Broadleaf colors but in my experience American Beauty is only one color EXCEPT there have been reports of American Beauty Green and Black for M. Brown...in my records, I have it listed as a question mark meaning I once saw both backs but had questions about authenticity.

Josh I will agree that the Brown 205 w/green AB is probably not legit. Would not make sense for that one card and the fact it is a Drum backed card also makes it more unlikely to be plausible. I have had over 5 AB browns and seen many more, but not the green one. If legit it would be a very unusual card, possibly a printers scrap
