That makes Mastro think it's a 19th Century Reach ball?

I know nothing about old baseballs, but I could swear that was the softball I left outside all winter in 1974

Wow...I'm not even 1/4 of the way into the memorabilia and I find this little gem.

A prime example of auction companies using the wishful thinking tactic.

Looks like an oil cloth ball from the 20s or 30s to me. I don't see any Reach logo and there isn't two tone stitching. I think they are waaaaay off on this. I cannot believe this will stand up to any scrutiny. The idiot who buys this should call me immediately to set up a massive purchase!!!

Yep...it's definitely not leather. Much more in resemblence to my Spalding Star baseball from the 20's.

I have about 5 of these somewhere. Here's the only one I can find right now. They have a canvas hide. The thing about the other ones I have is that they were aquired along with some milk bottles from a carnival game. I'm pretty sure Sam Crawford used this while playing for the Nebraska Indians, if anybody collects that kind of stuff.

Heh!

I already have about 10 of those canvas type "baseballs". I just mentioned the carnival type ball on a thread on the card side.
