Default Reds/Coca-Cola

Help. Picked this postcard up at a garage sale. Wondering if anyone has seen it before and if it is legit. Looked thru a lot of Coke items, can't locate it. Copyright on top says 1947. The Coke button in the left hand corner has Dayton bottling co.

I don't believe it is, as this style Reds logo was used in the 1970's-80's...

I don't think you can discount it based on the logo.

http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/lis...ncinnati_Reds/

It more closely resembles the logo from '20-'35 and '37-'38 than it does the later logos. The only difference is that "REDS" does not extend such that the "S" is in the opening of the large "C". In the later years, the logo has a reverse coloring scheme from the logo in the postcard.

Real or fantasy piece? Sorry, but I can't help you.

Either way it's made to look nostalgic, and older than it really is. Note the collared jerseys, quilted pants, pillbox hats, etc. I think the block letter "REDS" font inside the "C" does look more '70s than '40s. But it's tough to tell for certain, given the small image provided.

Pretty neat item, regardless
