Any thoughts on this "rarest" T-206?

Here is the card described by the seller as 40x rarer than Wagner:

[It's a Dooin portrait, Phila Nat'l, with a gold turtleneck sweater.]

Not sure about the rarity or the seller's claims, so I was curious what other thought.

but it seems like either the card is faded, or it missed in full or in part the red-dye portion of the printing process.

I think that the big premium for this particular example actually derives from the rare carpet fibers affixed to the bottom of the card. That has to be worth a good three to four thousand, alone.

i want to know who the seller is that hes had over 300,000 T206's in his life,including 10 wagners? ....ive also never heard of a wagner40 rating

As far as the card goes, anyone can see that he's not wearing a turtleneck; it is a cervical collar--he must've been faking an injury to get a nice insurance settlement.

I dunno what the heck is different about the card, but I'm sure amazed someone is paying $2k for it. Anyone wanna pay $1k for a Steinfeldt portrait with an reddish orangey background?

maybe LArry Fritsch, Mark Macrae and a few other long time hobby vets can claim to ahve handled 300,000 t206, but the claim 10handling 10 Wagners is streatch for all but a few old time collectors and very few dealers.

I remember someone telling me that it wasn't unusual in the in the 60s for one perosn to own 4 or 5 Wagners at one time.

2) the guy never stated he had 10 Wagners!!!

3) The guy also does NOT state he had or handled 300,000 T-206's either!

reread the ambiguity of his listing. he said seen OR handled and he stated"white border" cards not T-206's per say!

The obvious BS is in the fact he will no doubt not disclose to any of us the auction house or perso nhe talked to????

"Wagner40" I think he meant "UB40"
