Default REA "Shoebox Collections"

Has anybody ever won an REA Shoebox collection? Some of them look like tons of fun but for ungraded I prefer at least NM for everything 1957 and later and at least EX for everything 1956 and earlier. Are these beater collections by default? I noticed one said high-grade so I'm thinking "shoebox" is a euphemism for low to mid-grade.

I always interpreted "shoebox" to mean original collection...as found...which has not been picked through.

I agree but also agree that most times (not always) a shoebox collection, with cards rattling around in it by nature, won't be too high of grade.

I always thought it referred to a " hodgepodge" or assortment of mostly unrelated cards.

pretty sure that's how REA is using it.
