Default fake Cobb alert...

In my novice opinion, this e90-1 Cobb is a doctored reprint. The colour seems off, and the lettering doesn't look right to me.

I could be wrong, but I sure as heck would not bid on this card. Any opinions?

Don't quote me on this (Whoops, I'm quoting myself) as I haven't owned an E90-1 in some time, but the printing does not appear to be consistant with the type of printing used on these types of cards. Along with other more obvious problems, the background on the front image appears to be made with techniques not commercially available in 1909.

To note, these are only personal observations from semi-large online images. Unless there are obvious signs of counterfeiting, authentication requires in person examination. (Technically, authentication and counterfeit/forgery detection are two different things-- but that's more a matter of theory than practice).

That one looks like it was cooked over a campfire like a marshmellow.
