Does anyone know who is bidding on this blatant fake? The seller just physically threatened me with an email. The bidder looks like he may be legit.

I don't understand how you can claim this is a reprint when it clearly says in the title "Not Reprint"

ah this one is very easy. the background should be uncolored or the same tone as the borders. Also the print on back is the wrong color. Dan.

He does say in his item description that he reserves the right to end the auction early, which suggests he might be looking for a quick hit before Ebay pulls the auction.

Actually Dan - that's a smart strategic move by the seller. I'll bet you anything that once the auction gets shut down the seller is hoping his bidders saw that revision and will contact him with offers. He's "getting ahead of the story" if you will.

If he threatened you in an E mail, I would talk to the FBI about it. I had someone send an "almost" threatening E mail to me and I talked to the FBI. They said the E mail sent to me was close but not a direct threat.

If the seller is listing fake cards and threatening you, I would almost bet they have a criminal record. Maybe you can get them arrested like a couple fellow net54 members did with George Hudson. Nothing like sending a theif to jail for Christmas.

I cant get too crazy when I write these cons, In the past Ive been suspended 2 times by eBay (once for a month) for auction interference.

Like Dan said the easiest way to tell is the background should be the same color as the border. the reprint when designed had the photo area cropped and a new white border added.

tBob - he made it onto my blocked sellers list well before that response - selling a reprint and then not removing it when notified makes you dishonest and who knows what other ways he would cheat.

Is it possible to send more information about the counterfeit card when reporting it? When I went in to report the card, I could only send the auction number, not the information needed to evaluate whether or not the card was real. Am I missing something?

Mark - I wouldn't waste your time - having reported dozens and dozens of fakes to ebay, I can say that the only time they have ever been removed is when leon contacted his friend in ebay's fraud department and got them removed. I think they're just too inundated with emails that they ignore any that require research beyond finding the word "REPRINT" on the card.

Sorry, but I don't have a link. I went to the FBI Office in my city and took a copy of the E mail. In it, the seller said to stop harrassing him about his paper cut-outs of Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner because he had three Cousins who lived an hour away from me.

Seeing this, the FBI said his E mail to me COULD be construed as threatening but was not an outright, impossible to miss, threat. Compare that to the E mail the seller sent to you. It IS an outright threat that nobody could question what the guy meant.

Hope this helps and the guy gets what he deserves,

I sent the seller an email and politely told him the card is a reprint. Perhaps if EVERYONE did this he might get the message, then again, he's a woman beater so he probably doesn't have much common sense or decency.

I did all I could do....even made a phone call to my inside guy...(as well as emailing). Sometimes he is out for a few days....we'll see.

Generally speaking folks in martial arts are very disciplined. I am surprised that someone that is a master in martial arts would act this way...regards
