Default T206 fREAKSHOW

Very Happy to get my latest pickup back from SGC!!.. Thought I would share it with the board as I have never seen any of these that actually fit together before..

Upsidedown 4 back Piedmont.. with Tolstoi overstrike.. and multiple ghosts printed in color... similar to the one in REA... but these 2 were next to each other on the sheet.

Default Show me Sweet Cap freaks.

Congrats. Those are museum quality pieces.
By the way, why do I only usually see multiple strike/freaks with Piedmont backs and never w/Sweet Cap backs?

Great cards Jamie!

By the way, Doc Adkins's grandson was looking for you at the National. He saw my Net54 T-shirt and wanted to know if I had seen you. You may want to contact him. Thought I would pass that along.

Hey Jim.. No I didnt get them from Johnny but I know when he sees this thread he will go crazy lol

Hey Jantz... Thanks for the heads up... I was trying to help him get a nice card of his Grandpa.. I never got a chance to find out if he was able to buy one of the cards I pointed out to him... sorry I missed him...I really wanted to go to the national.. but after this pickup I was left with no baseball card funds for a while...since there was nothing I could have bought there, I figured I'll have to sit this one out. I want to go next year.

Thanks everyone.. I love these 2 cards!!!!

Those are AWESOME! I don't think anyone could argue that these are printer's scrap. You must of bought them together as a lot right?

Amazing.

I understand the meaning of "printer's scrap", but what are the theories as to how the scrap survived? Did someone rifle the rubbish bins outside the factory? Did Daddy, the printer, take them home for junior? Do we know?

Default Mike....

The fun of it is, NO ONE KNOWS

We can only theorize how they made it from the scrap pile to the public....adds to the mystic.......

My logical theory is that these cards were either picked out of the trash by kids/adults at that time and "cut" up when they got them home...or that the printers them selves brought the sheets/cut up cards home for their kids to p;ay with...

But if it were me being the printer, i would have chose these over the regular issues....

Btw Jamie,

IM JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

only kidding, i think i created a monster~!!!LOL

you deserve those cards my son....(if not me and chris)

peace

Johnny, it seems more likely to me that these particular scraps a printer brought home for kids. If these were ment for the trash, why not multi strike both sides? Keeping the player side clean seems like a move, by a printer, to keep the sheet, rather then toss... Maybe?

These are the only two possible options that I could come up with as well. I was just curious as to if there was any documentation one way or another....

As back up I am on my way to see Mr Peabody and his Way-Back Machine.
Did I just date myself or what?

Were you 40-ish when the Mr Peabody cartoons were first on TV? That would make you almost 90?
