On our trip to Melbourne, we stopped in at the National Sports Museum at the MCG, where the Melbourne Cricket Club has its museum as well. Aside from the fantastic cricket display, there were a few baseball items. Very cool.

Max- there's a spectacular poster that was issued in 1888-89 honoring the World Tour participants who made a stop in Australia. No original has ever been found. You didn't see one of those, did you?

That is a fabulous table...

Just curious, is the shortstop missing? Was there evidence on the table that a shortstop was once in place on the tabletop.

I bet that was a fantastic trip! Thanks for sharing the pics.

No poster, no shortstop (not even if you check my luggage)

I think I have a few other pictures to post; I'll dig through the files at home.

Melbourne is an amazing sports city--11 or so stadiums (stadia for those so inclined) seating more than 20,000. 2 60,000+ stadiums. Football, rugby, cricket are all huge. And best of all, very little north american sports news to distract.
