Here's the photograph... you write the caption!

I have a feeling that this could be very entertaining. Best, Jimmy

Experiment gone wrong, Babe Ruth and Jack Dempsey mutated to form Sports God.

Could not think of anything really funny.

Apparently, Paul Anka saw this photo many years ago and wrote "Put Your Head on my Shoulder". It's crazy.

Default Feel free to submit multiple captions...

As I suspected, some very clever quips posted by plenty of board members.

Keep em coming!

The following is my favorite as of yet...

From Phonywells Film Guide:

It took many years for the treatment to gain acceptance, but it finally reached fruition with 1972's "The Thing with Two Heads." Sadly, the two-superstar athlete concept was whittled down to Roosevelt Grier as half the beast.

Jack - "Babe, is that a hot dog in your pocket or are you just happy to see me."

Babe - "It's a hot dog!"

I swear this just happened. I'm sitting here looking at the photo while my itunes plays on my laptop (as usual) and Dueling Banjos started playing! Swear to "Babe Ruth". I just cracked up.

Maybe Babe is telling Jack..."Squeal like a pig"

I wonder how many people realize The Babe made chump change during that era compared to Dempsey.

The whole image is disturbing, but here's my take on the caption.

Caption one:

WARNING: Never play strip poker with Babe Ruth.......This dude plays for keeps!

Caption two:

Dempsey:" Yes Babe, these are nice underwear, but....but.....I don't have the box anymore................I swear......________(Net54member) has it!"

If you are lucky enough to have the box feel free to put your name in the blank.

In the late 1980s, I found a box in an antique shop containing six banded pairs of unused Babe Ruth underwear (they were like long underwear, but made of linen with no sleeves and short legs).

Anyway, I called my Dad in Atlanta and told him "You will not believe it, but I just got a whole box of Babe Ruth underwear!"

His very legitimate but unexpected response: "How do you know they were his?"

I thought a minute and told him they smelled like hot dogs.

Lots of "breathing room" in those things...kind of like hospital scrubs.

"Boxers, briefs or Babe's?"
