Default High End Material at Philly Show

Posted By: fessgreg

I am into high end material. Do you think there will be any dealers with any high end material at the philly show. I really enjoy this forum and I am new to card collecting(6 months). Realize that I don't know as much about cards as others on the forum. I may go to the Philly show anyway no matter what's there.

there's usuaully mid-grade material at that type of show, i collect high-end T206's and last "philly show" there wasn't much in the way of high-end, just some 6's & 7's, no 8's or 9's...you won't see those at the philly show (i don't think)...your best bet for high-end is eBay & some of the larger auctions.

is about as good as it gets for vintage stuff - IMHO.

I haven't found a better show... and would say - if you haven't gone to the show, its worth checking out.

I am guessing the national is the only one that tops it as far as shows (although I haven't gone to a national).

There is generally a good deal of high end stuff there. Especially auction preview for big houses like Memory Land and others. However, I was generally disappointed with the dealer prices. I mean, I know they are dealers and many of them do this for a living, but when you ask how much a card is and expect them to say somewhere around $5000 (since they have been selling on eBay for $4000) and they say $9500 - it doesn't leave much negotiating room...

But perhaps I'm not their ideal customer as I'm looking at high end cards but have a limited budget and prefer to look for bargains.
