I've been in buy mode most of this summer-so I figured it's overdue for me to join this forum. I've learned a lot in the past 3 months about the T206 set. My first purchases were four T206 cards in 2003-2004.
I bought a raw M. Brown Chicago Shirt in low grade, sight unseen and without seeing the back. Eventually, I sent it in for grading and was rewarded with a PSA 1. To my surprise I recently learned that the Sovereign green apple back is scarce with Brown and I am in the black, even after fees.
I figured this card would be a good one to share here. Apparently one sold this summer at acution (NM I think) but I couldn't find many images online of the exact combo.
My interest rekindled in recent years as my investment portfolio grew. I had thought of possibly buying a high grade Chance yellow portrait, but never did pull the trigger on the few 7s I saw. Instead, I'm focusing on collecting the 1908 Cubs in midgrade-no creases allowed. I also am not viewing it as a true risk/return investment, but merely a place to park my money while having some fun with the hobby and NOT pissing my money away gambling. Moreover, I view my current mode as a temporary caretaker of the cards to see the through the mid 21st-century as best I can. The cards I own turned 100 not to long ago-my goal is to make sure they see 200 with no degredation.
So happy Labor Day to all, hope your weather is as good as mine in N. Illinois.

Nice card, and a good choice of subjects. I am currently working on a high grade set of Cub HOFs from the T206 set If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. And good luck getting that Evers blue sky.

And yes, that Brown/ Sovereign is definitely worth more than $70.

Welcome to the forum. That is a nice M.Brown for the grade, rarer back as well. Good luck on your collection.

Great looking card for the grade. You'll do well by focusing on eye appeal rather than a technical grade.
